Manufacturers Association 2023 Annual Event
On June 8, the team was invited to attend York Manufactures’ Association’s Annual event held at York College. There was a huge turnout for the event and many awards were handed out for spectacular industry achievements.
As well as a great opportunity to catch up with colleagues, the big draw card for the event was the keynote speaker, Mike Eruzione, captain of the US hockey team that beat the Soviets in the 1980 Olympics – The “Miracle on Ice”.
His speech was powerful and motivational, and some of our team even managed to get a photo with him! I guess not surprising considering we were the official photographers for the event.
A Spotlight on York Talent!
Working with local companies and seeing what they produce and how it fits into the marketplace is one of the highlights of our job. Two such companies we wanted to highlight are Laserfab and Gather256.
Despite being vastly different businesses (manufacturing and food), they are both equally amazing and equally part of our local community.
LaserFab
This Lebanon, PA based manufacturer has been providing quality laser cutting, metal bending, and other fabrication services to clients for two generations. They specialize in metal bending and 2D laser cutting – cutting sheet metal and plate metal, steel, aluminum, brass or bronze up to one inch thick!
As well as offering their clients precise finishes, they provide faster production times due to their utilization of superior technology. The clients are raving about their “old school” service attitude and commitment to honesty, coupled with a good work ethic.
Well done Laserfab, you’re another amazing example of the depth of local talent we have in Central PA.
Gather 256
Sarah Cahill is the passion behind the wonderful café, Gather 256, situated on Philadelphia Street in York, PA. After recently acquiring the space, she immediately started to renovate, bringing her vision of a “food, drinks, and community” vibe to life.
This French-trained chef is really adding a touch of flavor to York City and Gather is fast becoming the go-to venue for morning coffee, art, plants, meet-ups, and even some work. If you haven’t stopped in yet be sure to visit Sarah at Gather 256 and try her amazing coffee, drinks, and menu. The outside patio is also one of York’s finest outside café spots.
